The
all-new ReCurve Suspension is so loaded with features that what
follows is but an overview of what we feel is our best suspension
design ever. We promise to update and add to the content that follows.
Suffice it to say that the ReCurve is designed to optimize fit and
load transfer, and it works. It's the best heavy load suspension
we've ever built. Fit is critical to function, and with five frame
sizes, six harness and five hipbelt sizes, and easy torso adjustability,
the ReCurve Suspension can be tuned to fit just about anyone perfectly.
We always strive to achieve maximum pack-to-body contact for even
load distribution, and our choice of D3 Spacer Mesh for backpanels,
HypurCell® laminate foam for shoulder straps and Spandura®
fabric for hip pads is based on making the contact zone breathable,
smooth and comfortable.
- Load lifter straps
act on ReCurve struts and framesheet to draw load snug against
your back
- D3 Spacer Mesh
backpanel promotes airflow and wicks moisture
- ReCurve struts
and HipShell lock into pack securely to maintain stability and
load transfer
- Laminated HypurCell®
shoulder harness adjusts easily and comes in men's and women's
styles
- ErgoPull hipbelt
closure draws the pressure evenly over hips
The quality of the
ReCurve Suspension's fit is more than matched by its advanced load
support mechanism. The foundation is a Foam-X framesheet, shaped
to your back by dual stays housed within fabric sleeves that are
sewn to the framesheet. The stays in turn anchor into our new BioForm
hipbelt. The hipbelt can be changed and the stays accessed for bending
by pulling down on the lumbar pad. The BioForm hipbelt couples thermoformed,
laminated closed cell foam with an outer supportive shell that evenly
spreads the weight over your hips. The outer shell works in conjunction
with the powerful leverage of the ErgoPull closure to channel any
pressure around your iliac crest, while allowing the softer interfacing
layer of closed cell foam to stretch and contour over your uniquely
shaped hips. The ReCurve struts run down the sidewall of the pack
and anchor into an aluminum ferrule contained within a sleeve that
attaches to the hipbelt via dual hip compression buckles, directing
weight downward, thus resisting any tendency for the hipbelt to
sag under load. Being bowed under tension, the struts actively transfer
load, but they also function as effective shock absorbers, saving
your hips from abuse and introducing flexibility into the frame
system. The aluminum ferrules at the ends of the struts are free
to pivot, allowing the interface at the hipbelt to articulate as
you move, while still maintaining full load transfer. The amount
of flex in the strut can be fine tuned with the strut compression
strap.
